If you've been watching Rogers TV over the past few months, you might have seen episodes of Living Well Giving Well—an initiative that brings together a variety of local charities and non-profits, working together to raise awareness for legacy giving.
Legacy giving, or planned giving, allows individuals to make significant contributions to causes they care about after their lifetime, often through wills, trusts, or financial instruments like life insurance. This ensures lasting impact and supports causes like Huron Shores Hospice for future generations.
We’re proud to be part of this initiative, helping raise awareness on these important topics. In this episode, we’re excited to feature Cheryl Cottrill, one of the founding directors of Huron Shores Hospice and an experienced end-of-life doula.
As an end-of-life doula, Cheryl provides holistic support to those nearing the end of life, offering emotional, spiritual, and practical guidance. Her insights into how thoughtful preparation can ease the journey for both individuals and their families highlight the transformative impact of planning ahead.
We invite you to watch this insightful episode on YouTube and hear the story behind the founding of our hospice and the significant role that end-of-life planning plays in ensuring dignity, comfort, and peace for individuals and their loved ones.
You can find more episodes of Living Well Giving Well on Youtube, featuring our community partners such as Brightshores Health System, Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation, Centre Grey Health Services Foundation, Community Foundation Grey Bruce, Georgian Bay Symphony, Grey Bruce Hospice, Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce, Home & Community Support Services Grey-Bruce, Meaford Hospital Foundation, Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, The Women's Centre Grey Bruce, and YMCA Owen Sound Grey Bruce.
These organizations are working together to raise awareness about the importance of legacy giving and end-of-life planning, helping make a lasting impact on our communities.
