Huron Shores Hospice: Making Moments Matter

Huron Shores Hospice is a warm and inviting residential hospice located at 24 King St. N., Tiverton, ON, that opened its doors on May 1, 2018, providing compassionate end-of-life care for individuals with life-limiting illnesses. Nestled within Tiverton Park Manor, we offer a home-like setting that empowers individuals to live well until the end. In 2020, we opened a second suite to double our commitment to quality end-of-life care for our community. At Huron Shores Hospice, our mission is to provide quality, compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like environment. We are guided by our core values of compassion, dignity, collaboration, accountability, excellence, and respect for diversity. Our dedicated staff, governed by our volunteer board, oversees day-to-day operations and spearheads community fundraising efforts, working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. We are proud to serve residents in the communities of Saugeen Shores, Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, and the surrounding areas. By providing quality end-of-life care at no cost, we uphold our vision of creating a world where end-of-life receives the same beauty, care, and respect as the beginning, by making moments matter. Beyond end-of-life care, we offer a range of free programs, including Grief Recovery Method support groups, End-of-Life Doula services, uplifting Death Cafés, and informative End-of-Life Planning workshops. These initiatives are an integral part of our commitment to normalize the conversation around dying and death and support those in our community needing grief and end-of-life support. As a charitable not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, and community-funded organization, we rely on the incredible support of our compassionate community. Raising over $300,000 annually is no small task, but we firmly believe that everyone deserves to die with dignity, surrounded by compassion, and close to home. The Ministry of Health provides partial funding to cover medical care and support. At Huron Shores Hospice, we wholeheartedly embrace our mission to provide quality, compassionate end-of-life care in a home-like environment. Your support fuels our commitment to creating meaningful moments and fostering a community where compassion and care know no bounds. Together, we can make a lasting impact and ensure that end-of-life is treated with the respect it truly deserves. (Video Produced and Directed By: Saugeen Valley Media)
